Excellent value for money, the Varietal Range from the Robertson Winery in South Africa offers an exciting diversity of wine styles.
Chenin Blanc
An appealing light straw colour. Full bodied palate with powerful varietal flavours of tropical fruit, ripe green fig and melon. Good structure with lovely balancing acidity.
Sauvignon Blanc
Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc harvested at night and grown in rich alluvial river bank soils, the wine is full bodied with fresh fruit flavours of fig and passion fruit well balanced by crisp acidity
Chardonnay
A portion of this wine, made from 100% Chardonnay, was matured in new oak for 6 months. An elegant wine filled with ripe peach and citrus flavours, impeccably balanced by subtle oak. Best Serving temperature; 8º - 10ºC.
Cabernet Sauvignon
This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon was aged for 7months in French oak and exhibits a smooth, full bodied style with rich mulberry, plum and cassis flavours supported by soft tannins. The wine is deep red in colour, smooth with good weight made in a friendly new Cape style with no hard edges.
Merlot
100% Merlot grapes, grown in the deep Karoo soils of the lower mountain slope. Matured in oak for 6months the merlot is a rich, dark red colour with a ripe plum and sweet black cherry flavour and a velvet finish.
Shiraz
Matured in a combination of French and American oak for 6months, this full-bodied wine has freshly crushed black pepper, cinnamon and cloves aromas with brambly red berry fruit and rich mulberry flavours. Best served at 12º - 14ºC.
Pinotage
Developed in South Africa, Pinotage is a cross between the Pinot Noir grape and Cinsaut. A deep purple tint on the rim with delicious flavours of ripe strawberry, banana, juicy plums and rich red cherry. Produced in an early drinking style with well-integrated wood and a soft smooth finish.
