Established in 1941, Robertson Winery is recognised today as one of South Africa's leading cellars. The fertile Robertson Valley, with its variety of meso-climates and soil conditions, creates a wide spectrum of terroirs, allowing the production of an exciting diversity of wine styles.
Varietal
Excellent value for money, the Varietal Range from the Robertson Winery in South Africa offers an exciting diversity of wine styles.
In 1776 a small farm ‘Boekenhoutskloof’ was founded in the Franschhoek valley, in which French Huguenots were the first people to settle and employ the ideal soils and Mediterranean climate for growing fine wine grapes. In 1993 the farm and homestead were bought and restored, setting up a new vineyard planting programme which now includes, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabbernet Franc, Grenache, Semillon and Viognier.
The translation of Boekenhoutskloof is ‘Ravine of the Boekenhout’ Boekenhout being an indigenous cape beech tree.
Porcupine Ridge and Wolftrap
The Porcupine Ridge and Wolftrap make up our middle range of wines. These ranges offer some delicious flavours and exciting blends.
The TWEE JONGE GEZELLEN (TJ), ‘in the family’ since 1710, has always been synonymous with terms like pioneering, ground-breaking. TJ is the oldest family farm in the pioneer district of Tulbagh and the second oldest family-owned wine estate in South Africa. The HOUSE OF KRONE was formed to recognise the significance of Nicky Krone’s contribution to the brand and to differentiate the Krone family’s Méthode Cap Classique (MCC) sparkling wines from its Twee Jonge Gezellen range of still wines.
